Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Mission Statement: To improve the health status of the people through wellness promotion and health-empowerment and thereby positively influence their health-seeking behaviour.
LWI is a health promotion and empowerment non-governmental organization which has outreached over 1.5 million Nigerians and over 3000 Ghanaians with free health empowerment and free health services.
The CHIP
Goal: To improve ‘Birthing’ attendance at Amuwo Odofin Health Centre and thus reduce maternal mortality significantly at the Local Government Area.
Process Objective:
- The process objective is to improve perception of Health Centre workers by the Community to 70% by June 2013
- To enlist Community buy-in measured by endorsement
- To train at least 20 Community Members as 'birthing centre advocates' by Dec 2013
Outcome Objective: The outcome objective is to improve the number of births at the health centre to 40% by June 2014 from the current baseline of 10%.
