The NPHS has also pioneered a number of innovations which have subsequently been adopted by key players in health delivery in Ghana. Notably among these innovations is community initiated clinics in the late seventies and the practice of comprehensive primary Health Care before the Alma Ata declaration in 1978.The PHS-N has been rendering both static and outreach services in the Upper East Region of Ghana for over sixty years.
