Jhpiego mission is to promote good health and save the lives of women and their families in resources limited settings by empowering front-line health workers through designing and implemention of effective, low cost, hands-on solutions that strengthen the delivery of health care services, following the household-to-hospital continuum of care.And also to Partner with organizations from the community to the national level, building sustainable, local capacity through advocacy, policy development,quality and performance improvement approaches.

Goals

  • Provide access to quality and free PMTCT services to women and their families at 15 health facilities in Zamfara state of Nigeria
  • To promote Community involvement and participation in PMTCT in other to encourage and support all preganant women in the targeted communities to access PMTCT services in the 15 supported facilities

Objectives

  • To provide HIV Counseling and Testing to 90% of pregnant women that attend Antenatal clinics and also provide Anti-retroviral prophylaxis or treatment to 90% of identified positive pregnant women from the 15 supported facilities by December 31st 2012 
  • To produce in local dialet; Information, Education and Communication materials (IEC) that promotes PMTCT service uptake in the 15 facilities,distribute the materials to more than 60% of clients that attend ANC and more than 40% of clients during outreaches and other community sensitisation programs by Febuary 2012
