Current mission statement

In order to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS on sustained profitability and economic growth, GBCA will lead:

In establishing a network of high quality information and best practices; and

In the building of sustainable partnerships between the private sector and other stakeholders.

GBCA's mission is to mitigate the impact of communicable and non-communicable disease burdens on businesses through provision of quality, affordable and accessible health services. 

Services

  1. Build capacity of businesses to develop and implement effective workplace programmes (WPP)
  2. To assist businesses develop guidelines and strategies f or setting up workplace HIV & AIDS programmes
  3. Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of Workplace HIV&AIDS programmes and policies among companies
  4. Monitor and evaluate workplace interventions, develop a database for workplace programmes and policies
  5. Create a platform for sharing best-practices and knowledge
  6. Advocate workplace HIV & AIDS related issues and contribute to the achievement of national HIV & AIDS response targets

Goals

  • To mitigate the impact of HIV and TB on the profitability of GBCA Small & Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs).
  • To promote effective Workplace programming on communicable and non-communicable diseases for GBCA member companies

Objectives

  • To increase knowledge levels of 15 GBCA SMEs on HIV and TB by at least 20%, while equipping them with basic Business skills by the end of 2012
  • To assist 5 large businesses in the establishment of structures for functional workplace programme on HIV and Hypertension by December 2012
