About

The Youth Health Organization (YOHO) is a strong, vibrant youth-run organization with a Vision of Productive youth of Botswana by 2020. YOHO was established in 1999 as a joint venture between The Botswana Government - USA Partnership (BOTUSA) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) in order to invigorate youth HIV/AIDS initiatives. YOHO is committed to healthy lifestyles for youth by striving to be a youth development organization that will empower young people to reach their maximum potential and to be productive and prosper through Entertainment, Education for Empowerment interventions( Triple E Intervention Approach) based on Youth-Adult partnerships, rights, respect and responsibility. YOHO has since its establishment implemented many youth related projects. We have in the past 14 years, done the following key projects, that has managed to increase young people’s knowledge and build their skills in HIV/AIDS, Alcohol Substance & Drug Abuse, Gender, Orphanhood, Blood Safety, ASRHR, Leadership and Economic Empowerment.

Proposed New Mission

To promote health and empower youth in the City of Francistown to be productive through targeted youth adult partnerships, rights, respect and responsibility approaches by 2016

Services

To foster hope and offer support for the most vulnerable. We strive to address the challenges of widespread poverty and disease through holistic, creative and practical programmes and partnerships.

The CHIP

Goals

• Reduced HIV incidence in City of Francistown by September 2016

Objectives

• To reduce HIV incidence from 4.9% to 3.4 in City of Francistown by September 2014
• To increase the uptake of condoms from the 75% to 90% in City of Francistown by April 2014
• To increase reported abstinence of youth under the age of 10yrs from 98% to 100% by April 2014.
