About the Organization
The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is an organization mandated for formulation of health and social welfare policies and monitoring and evaluating their implementation as well as ensuring that all Tanzanians access quality health and social welfare services.
The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Tanzania has established 8 zonal health resource centres (ZHRC) strategically located in various places. The zones over a number of regions ranging from 2 -6. Each ZHRC serves as a resource centre for health training institutions within those regions. The roles of the zones include providing technical support, supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the health trainings offered.

To facilitate provision of basic health services which are proportional, equitable, quality, affordable and gender sensitive.
Proposed New Mission
Ministry of Health and Social Welfare facilitates provision of basic health services which are proportional, equitable, quality, affordable and gender sensitive to the Tanzanian citizens through ensuring supportive policy and adequate resources.

To increase the percentage of accredited HTIs by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) in Tanzania
Objective
To increase the percentage of accredited HTIs by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) from 21% to 40% by July 2015.
