About The Organization
In Somaliland there are three healths professional association who are currently active in the health system of the country include Somaliland Medical Laboratory Association, Nursing and Midwifery Association and Somaliland Medical Association. In addition to that, Health professional associations are supported and capacitated by Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) and funded by DFID
Current Mission
SOMLA Mission Statement
Provide national leadership in advancing the practice and profession and Medical Laboratory science through policy support, education and training, research and knowledge management, advocacy and networking, standard setting, accreditation and quality assurance in collaboration with stakeholder s at all levels
SLNMA Mission statement
Represent Nurses and Midwifes in Somaliland and advance their education, build their capacity and ensure they offer quality care.
Proposed New Mission
Improvement of Health worker’s professionalism and Ethics through Continuous Professional Development training to advance the quality and access of the Health services of Somaliland society.
Program Goal Statement
Improved competence of health workers in Health facilities in Somaliland
Long Term Outcome Smart Objective
