Goals and Objectives
Goal:
- Reduce outpatient waiting time by 50% in Banso Baptist Hospital by December 2016
Long term objective:
- Develop and implement an HMIS software in Banso Baptist Hospital OPD by June 2016
Short term objective :
- Document OPD processes by October 2015
- Develop modules of the HMIS by February 2016
Measurement
- Establish baseline patient waiting time at each service point in the OPD
- Compare baseline waiting time with post automation waiting time
Lessons Learned
- Determination of workload and efficient line spacing contributes to reduction in patient waiting time
- Establishing a blue print for services (patient flow chart) positively influences patient waiting time
- In house softwares can successfully automate service processes
