About My Organization

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is a Public Service body established under Act 525 of 1996 as required by the 1992 constitution. It is an autonomous Executive Agency responsible for implementation of national policies under the control of the Minister for Health through its governing Council - the Ghana Health Service Council.

Mission Statement

To provide and prudently manage comprehensive and accessible health service with special emphasis on primary health care at regional, district and sub-district levels in accordance with approved national policies.

The CHIP

Goal

To improve equity and access to basic health care services through the establishment of functional CHPS zones in six electoral areas in the Adansi North district

Process Objective

  • To organize quarterly in-service training on CHPS for 4 communities health nurses to be assigned to an electoral area in the districts starting October, 2013 and completed December 2013.
  • To select and train 5 community health volunteers from each zone on quarterly basis starting October, 2013 to June, 2013.

Outcome Objective:

To establish six functional CHPS zones by the end of 30th August, 2014.
