Who We Are
The Ministry of health is one department of the Senegalese Government in charge of Health and Social area with many directions including the including the direction of reproductive health and child survival.
AMREF is an African international NGO, created in 1957 and headquartered in Nairobi (Kenya) committed to improving health and health care in Africa.
What We Do
- Define the national strategy of reproductive, maternal and child health
- Define the norms and protocols for cases management
- Coordinate at the national level the health policies in Senegal
- Supervise the implementation of the different programs
- AMREF works in partnership with the Senegalese government to support programs. AMREF has a long experience in training
The CHIP
Goal: Reduce the unmet need of contraceptive method among married women from 29,4% to 15% by end 2014 in Thies (Senegal)
Process Objective: Increase the availability of all contraceptive methods from 60% to 100% in all the public health facilities in Thiès region by end of 2014
