About the Organization

Parents against drug abuse (PADA) is a nongovernmental organization which seeks to promote a platform of support for families who are dealing with drug related issues by helping young children and young adults make informed decisions regarding their attitude towards drug use and promote a system of empowerment for parents and individuals struggling with substance abuse within their family ranks.Parents against drug abuse (PADA) is a nongovernmental organization which seeks to promote a platform of support for families who are dealing with drug related issues by helping young children and young adults make informed decisions regarding their attitude towards drug use and promote a system of empowerment for parents and individuals struggling with substance abuse within their family ranks.PADA currently serves as a medium to parents who’s wards or family members  are addicted to one substance or another and at the moment only able to refer patients to other institutions where they can get suitable treatment. 

GAP Analysis

  • Ignorance amongst students about drug addiction and its effects
  • No drug education program in schools
  • Low knowledge of drug education amongst parents. 


The CHIP

To successfully introduce drug education as a course or subject, to be taught in government senior secondary schools in Abuja, Nigeria  as a means of reducing participation of youths in drug abuse. 


Objective – Output or shorter term outcome

To increase the knowledge of drug abuse amongst parents of government secondary school students by November 2018 


Strategic option/project

Comprehensive survey on the level of knowledge of drug abuse amongst senior secondary students and its effects on the choices they make regarding drug abuse. 


Long Term Outcome Smart Objective

To increase knowledge of the effects of drug abuse and its dangers amongst government  senior secondary school youths by November 2018
