About
Gamodubu Child Care Trust is a non-profit community-based organisation in the Kweneng district of Botswana that targets orphans, vulnerable children, and youth from 0 to 29 years, and empowers them to be better people who can contribute positively to their lives, the lives of family, community and the entire society of Botswana. Gamodubu Child Care Trust complements government efforts in caring for orphans, vulnerable children and youth, most especially those in rural Botswana like Gamodubu village.
Mission
Current Mission
To identify the orphans, vulnerable children and youth, and empower them with health and care issues, and livelihood skills.
Proposed New Mission
To identify the orphans, vulnerable children and youth, and to empower them by providing knowledge and information around health and care issues, and by capacity-building them with livelihood skills.
Services
To foster hope and offer support for the most vulnerable. We strive to address the challenges of widespread poverty and disease through holistic, creative and practical programmes and partnerships.
The CHIP
Goals
To gain awareness of and participate in affordable training programs focused on proposal writing so that staff can be empowered to write and win proposals, thus supporting organisational sustainability.
Objectives
- To host three quarterly proposal writing dialogues with OVC, youth and caregiver stakeholders by July 2014 that will provide the skills needed for Gamodubu Child Care Trust to apply for proposals totaling P1,000,000 by December 2014.
- To host 3 quarterly dialogues with relevant stakeholders; 1st dialogue with 15 youth stakeholders by January 2014, 2nd dialogue with 10 caregiver stakeholders by April 2014, and 3rd dialogue with 20 OVC stakeholders by August 2014.
- Demonstrate successful application of proposal writing skills gained through OVC, Youth and caregiver dialogue sessions through submission of 4 proposals by December 2014; a 100% increase over the average 2 proposals generally submitted each year.
