About the Organization

Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization established in June 2004. Re registered on October 30, 2009 as Ethiopian Residents Charity organization according to the new civil society’s legislation to accomplish its mission of support marginalized and hard to reach citizens by providing economical, environmental and psycho-social services. Based on the major organizational thematic areas are; HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Health, Women Empowerment, Environment and WASH, Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia has been addressing disadvantaged population groups such as Female Sex Workers, House maids, HIV positive and poor women in all regions of Ethiopia in 28 cities and towns. So far Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia addressed 4 million people in all corners of Ethiopia. 

Current Mission

To support/assist most at risk people to HIV/AIDS, people living with HIV/ AIDS, affected families and other powerless citizen by providing social ,political and economic services and /or  by facilitating such service via referral linkages so that they are empowered and become self reliant citizen.

Enlighten, serve and equip marginalized groups and hard to reach segments of the society.

Program Goal Statement

Improved health of Domestic Workers in Amhara Region and Bahir Dare in particular through increase access to HIV and SRH prevention and related friendly services. This also will contribute to the national goal of reducing the prevalence of HIV and incidence of STDs infection. 


Long Term Outcome Smart Objective

Reduce prevalence of HIV and other reproductive health problems among 800 Domestic workers in Bahir Dar city in 2018. 


Measure

Increase the number of Domestic Workers who receive sexual and reproductive information through Female Iddirs, Night schools and Domestic Workers brokers
