About Alive Medical Services

AMS is a charity organization which provides free comprehensive HIV/AIDS care to over 13,000 HIV-positive clients.
AMS is located in Kisugu-Namugongo, a suburb of Kampala.
Our Vision: A world in which those in need of medical care have access to state-of-the-art medical services provided with love and dignity.

Current Mission

AMS exists to provide and model comprehensive prevention, care, treatment and support of HIV and other health needs for its clientele, using a holistic approach incorporating education, training and research, to empower them live a quality life.

AMS exists to provide and model holistic solutions for HIV and other health needs in Uganda, and empower our clients to live a quality life.

GAP Analysis

Description Of Current State Description Of Desired Future State
1. Although the national and organizational policy is for generalized HIV testing for all,
at AMS men constitute only about 35% of the adults who test for HIV.
The uptake of HIV testing services (HTS) at AMS by men should increase to 45% of the total number of adults tested.
2. More than 2,000 HIV-positive clients of AMS eligible for anti-retroviral therapy (ART) have not yet been started on it. 2. All eligible HIV-positive clients of AMS are enrolled on ART.
3. Although the national and organizational policy is for young people to constitute at least 10% of the clientele in HIV programs,
at AMS adolescents and youth constitute only about 6 - 7% of the clientele in care.
3. The uptake of HIV testing services (HTS) at AMS by adolescents and youth should increase to the level that they will constitute 10% of the total number of HIV-positive clients in care at AMS.
